Dear Parents,
As we move into the penultimate week of the academic year, there has been much to reflect on and celebrate. Last week, the children took part in a number of important transition experiences, helping them to look ahead with growing confidence and excitement, while also giving us a clear reminder of just how much they have grown over the course of the year.
Supporting Children Through Transition
Last week’s transition opportunities were carefully planned to help the children build familiarity with the people, spaces and routines that will form part of their next stage. This sense of familiarity is essential. When children know what to expect and have had the chance to ask questions, explore and make early connections, they are far more likely to approach change feeling safe, secure and ready.
On Tuesday, our Reception children who will be moving to Lam Tin for Year 1 visited their new campus. They enjoyed spending time in the Year 1 classrooms, exploring the Panda Playground and meeting the Year 1 teachers. It was a valuable opportunity for the children to begin building a sense of connection to their new environment and to picture themselves there with confidence.
On Wednesday, the children who will remain at NAIS Sai Kung for the next academic year took part in their ‘Moving Up’ session. They spent time in their new classroom and met their new teacher and TLA or watched a special video from their new teacher. The excitement was clear as they explored their new learning spaces with their classmates.
It was then the turn of our Year 1 children, who visited the Year 2 classrooms last Friday. They had lots of thoughtful questions for Mr. Gill and enjoyed exploring the playground and library, supported by some of our Year 6 students, who helped make the experience feel both welcoming and reassuring.
These moments matter. Strong transition is not simply about moving from one class to the next; it is about ensuring children feel known, prepared and emotionally secure. That foundation of confidence makes a significant difference as they begin a new year.
My sincere thanks go to all the teachers, TLAs and support staff who contributed so thoughtfully to these experiences. The care, planning and attention that went into each session ensured the children felt positive, supported and excited about what lies ahead.

Supporting parents to feel informed and prepared is equally important. Thank you to all the parents who were able to join us for the information sessions last week. I hope these sessions were helpful in giving clarity and reassurance for the year ahead.

A Year of Exploration and Adventure
This year has been rich in exploration, learning and enjoyment, and our Wild Explorers adventures have been a particularly strong example of this in action.
Last Friday, our Reception children took part in their final Wild Explorers adventure at Lions Nature Park, where they engaged in orienteering and map skills activities. They worked together to navigate the park, identify key areas and notice plants and features in the natural environment along the way. It was a fitting final adventure and a wonderful example of the curiosity, confidence and independence they have developed throughout the year.

A Week of Celebration Ahead
And now we arrive at our penultimate week — a week of celebration, as we recognise and capture the tremendous growth and development of all our children.
The school has been filled with singing, dancing and purposeful rehearsal as the children prepare for their upcoming performances. There is a real sense of anticipation across the campus, and we are very much looking forward to seeing each child on stage, celebrating all that they have achieved.
We hope to see many of you at the performance so that we can share this special assembly together.
