As the academic year draws to a close, the Startup Studio Networking Night at Northbridge International School Cambodia (NISC) marked a powerful milestone for our Grade 9 students as they completed the Learn to Start program. This signature Northbridge initiative empowers students to build the adaptability, creativity, and critical thinking skills required to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving global economy, in short, to become truly market-ready learners. At Northbridge, we believe education must extend beyond traditional career pathways. While career readiness focuses on preparing students for specific professions, market readiness prepares them for a world of constant change. It equips students with the agility to recognise emerging opportunities, innovate solutions, and continuously upskill throughout their lives. Through the Startup Studio, students develop essential future-ready competencies, including: This approach reflects Northbridge’s commitment to nurturing globally minded students who are prepared not just for their first job, but for a lifetime of impact. Throughout the year, students worked independently and in teams to explore startup opportunities, business innovation, and social impact initiatives. From identifying gaps in emerging markets to designing solutions for community challenges, each project was rooted in authentic, real-world relevance. Guided by research, mentorship, and exposure to industry trends, students: The result is a learning experience that mirrors the realities of today’s entrepreneurial and professional environments. The Networking Night provided students with a platform to present their ventures to an audience of parents, educators, and members of the local Phnom Penh business community. The event celebrated not only student achievement but also the power of experiential learning.
