Eerie Extravaganza in EYFS
Last Friday, Early Years celebrated Halloween with a fun fashion parade and activities alongside our families. The classrooms were filled with little witches, skeletons and spooky decorations. Thank you to all the families who joined us!

Discovering Maths All Around Us
Year 1 children explored Maths through exciting hands-on activities, including 2D shape hunts, sorting, counting and recording data using tally charts. These activities helped develop their mathematical thinking, problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Understanding Our Amazing Bodies
Year 2 children learned about the roles of the skeleton and muscles, discovering how they protect our bodies and help us move. They put their knowledge into practice through a fun “How Many in a Minute?” challenge, counting star jumps, hops and squats with a partner.

A Spooktacular Halloween Assembly
Year 3 proudly hosted this year's whole-school Halloween Assembly. From their spooky story, The Day the Avengers Turned Evil, to the Mummy Wrap Challenge, Costume Catwalk and whole-school dancing, the event was full of laughter and excitement. We are incredibly proud of their confidence, teamwork and hard work!

Learning Through Conversations
Year 4 children developed their speaking and listening skills through a fun telephone role-play activity based on How to Make Egg Sandwiches? They practised asking and answering questions, building confidence in communication and using relevant vocabulary.

Celebrating Teamwork and Sportsmanship
Year 5 enjoyed an exciting Sports Day, putting their speed, balance and coordination to the test. They showed fantastic teamwork, encouraged their classmates and demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout the challenges.

Exploring the Wonderful World of Plants
Year 6 explored plant structures and their functions through hands-on dissections and practical pollination activities. They also created detailed 3D flower models, identifying and labelling the different parts while developing their scientific understanding and creativity.

Y11 Korea Trip
Our Year 11 students recently enjoyed an unforgettable four-day History and Culture trip to South Korea, exploring the country’s fascinating past and experiencing its vibrant modern culture. Highlights included visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace in traditional hanbok, learning about the Korean independence movement at Seodaemun Prison, exploring the Korean War Memorial and discovering the sights and sounds of Seoul. Hopefully students returned with fantastic memories and experiences to share.
Quote from Quanh Minh NGO: "The trip was a wonderful experience. It painted Korea’s history with more depth rather than just “Korea was split in two”. Seeing the places that made Korea was quite nice. I’ve had a blast from start to finish and it would be great to see the trip be reran for other year groups."

Support from Student Ambassadors
Our dedicated Subject Ambassadors have been working closely with their respective departments to establish a programme of student-led support sessions. Taking place during lunchtimes, these sessions provide younger students with the opportunity to receive additional help with homework, revision and subject-specific learning. It is fantastic to see our older students taking on these mentoring roles, sharing their knowledge and experience while helping to build a supportive learning community across Secondary.

Bringing Computer Architecture to Life in Year 12!
This week, Year 12 Computer Science students have been exploring computer architecture through a range of interactive and collaborative activities.
From a game of Snap, matching registers with their functions, to a Human Bus Simulation, where students took on the roles of the CPU, RAM and system buses, learning went beyond textbooks. These hands-on activities helped students visualise how data, addresses and control signals travel within a computer.

Further Maths
Y13 Further Maths students consolidated their learning of this week's content by completing a jigsaw puzzle by solving differentiation questions on hyperbolic functions in their FP2 module. Students worked as a team to complete the task and explain their solutions to each other and writing solutions on a final poster.

🌸 Flower Arranging ECA – Session 2
In our second session, students had the opportunity to explore the beauty of silk flowers and discover the art of flower arranging.
With creativity and enthusiasm, each student designed and crafted their very own charming flower basket, inspired by the warm and cozy colours of autumn.
But these beautiful creations are more than just floral arrangements – they are little gifts made with love, care, and creativity, ready to bring joy to their beloved family members and loved ones.
A lovely session filled with imagination, creativity, and heartwarming moments!

Project Paddle - Pickleball
A group of dedicated BVIS Hanoi students – Bao Anh (Lucy), My Chan, Khanh Vy, Hoai Thanh and Ha My are leading a non-profit, student-led charity initiative bringing pickleball players from across Hanoi together through sport and community. They organise tournaments that encourage students and parents to connect, compete, and enjoy the sport, welcoming families from BVIS Hanoi and other schools. Supported by a fantastic team of student volunteers from BVIS, BIS, St Paul and beyond, the initiative is a wonderful example of student leadership, collaboration and making a positive difference in the wider community.
